Freight Operations · Technology · Systems
FreightCTO helps carriers, brokerages, and logistics companies audit their operation, fix compliance gaps, organize their documents, and build custom systems that make the business easier to run, sell, and scale.
Every submission is reviewed personally by Michael Morris.
Why FreightCTO Exists
It’s not a hustle problem. It’s an operations problem.
Carrier grossing $6,000 a week. Still broke. Why? Because nobody ever reviewed whether the cost structure actually worked — before the insurance, the equipment, the dispatcher, and the fixed overhead were already locked in.
Same pattern in brokerages: compliant enough to operate, but compliance gaps still blocking factoring approvals, creating carrier onboarding friction, slowing customer setup, and leaking revenue in a dozen places nobody’s tracking.
| What they do | Why they fall short | |
|---|---|---|
| Cheap dispatchers | Book loads, take a cut per truck | Chase volume, not outcomes. No accountability for whether the model actually works. |
| Generic consultants | Strategy decks, roadmaps, frameworks | Don't understand freight execution. Can't implement. Disappear after the retainer. |
| Enterprise software | TMS, ERP, telematics platforms | Too expensive and too complex for operators under $20M. Built for Fortune 500, not for freight companies still in growth. |
| FreightCTO | Operational truth + systems + execution support | The first entity willing to say: this model doesn’t work as built. |
Every other vendor says yes. FreightCTO is the one that will say no — before the market charges you tuition.
The Work Is Real
Inside those 53,000 emails was a complete picture of where the business was leaking money, which compliance gaps were creating broker approval friction, what the carrier onboarding process was actually doing versus what it was supposed to do, and exactly where the revenue opportunities were being left on the table.
FreightCTO can reconstruct operational history from the files, emails, PDFs, and workflows most companies already have — but are not using. That’s the difference between reading data and knowing what it means inside freight operations.
This is a proof of concept built on a real operation. The methodology scales to any size carrier, brokerage, or 3PL.
Three Ways to Work With FreightCTO
Where you start depends on the size of the operation and the urgency of the problem.
For owner-operators & small carriers (1–10 trucks)
Most carriers come into the market backwards. By the time they’re asking who can get them freight, they’re already operating from desperation.
FreightCTO reviews your operation and tells you whether the business model actually works. The output: Abort. Adjust. Or Proceed. With the math to back it up.
What gets reviewed
Equipment & payload model · Insurance vs. revenue · True CPM · Required rate to survive · Factoring readiness · Lane viability · Broker access · Dispatch readiness
Entry-level diagnostic.
48-hour written verdict.
For brokerages, established carriers & logistics operators
The diagnosis isn’t “you need more software.” It’s that your documents are scattered, compliance gaps are blocking approvals, and nobody has a clear picture of what the operation is actually doing at any given time.
FreightCTO audits the real inputs — inbox exports, carrier packets, compliance docs, factoring setup, SOPs — and delivers a findings report that shows exactly where money is leaking.
What gets audited
Inbox & documents · Carrier onboarding · Customer intake · Compliance & FMCSA · Factoring setup · COI & broker agreements · Tech stack · Revenue leak analysis
Audits start at $1,500.
5–7 business day turnaround.
For companies ready to implement after the audit
After the audit, some companies need more than a roadmap. They need the actual system. Not generic software. Not a resold SaaS tool. A custom freight operating system built around your specific workflows, your stack, and your growth plan.
What gets built
Carrier & customer portals · Compliance dashboards · Executive visibility layer · AI document processing · TMS/ELD integrations · SOP libraries · Cost-per-mile reporting
Scoped after audit.
$5K–$15K+/month.
Dispatch Ops is not publicly offered. Qualified carriers are invited after the Carrier Reality Check. If you’re building volume and want a direct conversation about cutting out broker layers, that starts there.
The Process
FreightCTO identifies the type of operation and the most likely friction points before the first conversation.
Carrier Reality Check for small fleets and owner-ops. Freight Operations Audit for brokerages and established carriers. Systems Buildout is scoped after the audit — not before.
Inbox exports, PDFs, carrier packets, SOPs, spreadsheets, TMS/CRM exports, or selected files. The more you provide, the more accurate the findings.
We look for compliance gaps, revenue leakage, operational drag, and system opportunities. This is not a checklist review. It is an analysis of what the operation is actually doing versus what it should be doing.
Findings, priorities, and specific next steps. Not a strategy deck. Not a framework. A direct set of things to fix, in order.
If a system, portal, dashboard, or automation makes sense — and only if it makes sense — we scope it after the audit. The buildout is never the first conversation.
Qualification
This is for
Carriers stuck getting broker approvals or factoring applications rejected
Brokerages with scattered carrier onboarding and no clean compliance trail
Small fleets with no operational dashboard and no visibility into what's actually happening
Dispatchers who need a better intake process and a repeatable backend
Logistics companies still running on email, spreadsheets, and memory
Companies with compliance or document gaps they know exist but haven't fixed
Operators who need a system before they scale — not after
This is not for
Carriers looking for a load board shortcut
Companies that want solutions without sharing data
People who want tech support at $20/hour
Anyone who's not willing to look honestly at whether the model actually works
The Differentiation
Any carrier or brokerage operator can dump their inbox into an AI tool and get a summary. That’s not the product.
The product is knowing which missing COI creates a factoring delay. Which broker approval issue is actually a FMCSA standing problem. Which address discrepancy on a contract creates downstream legal exposure. Which workflow gap between the TMS and the accounting system is bleeding cash in ways nobody’s measuring.
That knowledge does not come from prompting. It comes from operating inside trucking, brokerage workflows, compliance problems, and carrier onboarding — and then building the tools around what was actually broken.
FreightCTO is not selling prompts. It’s selling freight-specific judgment plus technical execution. That combination is rare. That is what you are paying for.
Built From the Inside
My father is a mechanical engineer who spent decades in the automotive world — building things, fixing things, taking them apart to understand how they worked, and bringing young people along to do the same. That’s the lens I grew up with.
I brought that same approach to freight. Not as an outside consultant observing the industry, but as someone who went in — ran operations, learned insurance and compliance from the hard side, built carrier workflows from scratch, and spent years doing the kind of hands-on R&D that most technology advisors never do.
I’m also the architect of the TNH IQ SmartPlan — the profitability and planning tool used by tens of thousands of logistics operators — and the architect of FreightIQChain, a trust and identity infrastructure for freight that’s coming soon to the community.
FreightCTO is where all of that comes together as a service.

For Carriers Ready to Grow
FreightCTO partners with Truck N’ Hustle on a Commercial Activation Sprint— a structured process that takes what you’ve built operationally and turns it into a shipper-facing story: website, capability deck, outreach strategy, and lead capture.
If you’ve done the work on the inside, this is how you make it visible on the outside.

A decentralized identity and verification layer built specifically for the freight industry — designed to stop ghost trucks, reduce double-brokering, and give carriers, brokers, and shippers a verified record of who they’re actually dealing with.
